Emotional Management and Expression
Emotional expression and emotional management are just as important to your well-being. Without expression, we could not feel our positive energy emotions, nor accept our negative energy emotions; and, without management, we could not comprehend our positive energy emotions, nor process our negative energy emotions. In turn, emotional expression and management can directly change our emotions; and so, they are interdependent.
Self-regulation is pausing between feeling and action – encouraging objective evaluation before action.
Another aspect of emotional regulation is value engagement, defined as reacting without considering an emotional response. When reacting without paying attention to emotion, deviation from core values may occur. With proper regulation and self-control, acting against core values may be prevented.
Self-awareness involves being aware of the self’s different aspects, including traits, behaviors, and feelings. Essentially, it is a psychological state in which one becomes the focus of attention. Self-awareness is one of the first components of the self-concept to emerge.
Mindful awareness means being aware of thoughts and feelings and focusing on the present and, most important.
